Product video & 15s TVC: turn product photos and selling points into a commercial

A product page can list every benefit in type that people scroll past. A product video uses the same photographs to show where the object is picked up, which detail is worth remembering, and what to do after watching.

Three places it runs

A product page, beside the main images, so someone sees the object, how it opens, and one use before they buy.

A distributor who must forward it to a buyer. The film names who it is for, then the one action that differs from the current way of doing the job.

The information layer of an ad. Thirty seconds covers the scene, the benefits and the purchase. When the product should arrive only after a short story, use the story-ad shape. That entry is not open yet.

The picture comes from what you hand over

Photographs

Pack shots, details, hands in use, or the place it is used. Without photographs, the film cannot invent a feature or a result you never captured.

Who it is for

One person at one moment. Someone who often stays in hotels and needs to boil one cup, rather than “all consumers.”

Three benefits at most

Write each benefit as something visible or doable in use. Leave the spec sheet on the product page. The film keeps only what changes this use.

One buy or ask

A real shop, a real enquiry, or a real channel step. Offers and gifts that do not exist stay out of the script.

Four beats in 30 seconds

This is the production shape, not a customer film. The folding kettle below is a fictional outline you can copy. It is not a product for sale, and there is no public film of it.

TimeBeatWhat to say
00–07sSceneA hotel desk. The kettle takes a corner of it. The person only wants one cup of water.
07–17sBenefitsWhat it is, plus at most three visible points: it folds flat, it holds one cup, the spout does not drip. Each point has to be findable in your photos.
17–25sDemoOne continuous action: unfold, fill, boil. Or a close-up of a detail that is really on the pack. The result stops where the photos and the brief stop.
25–30sPurchaseThe full product name, then one action: open the shop, ask the channel, or save the film for a buyer.

Keep it separate from a project film and a story ad

A project video asks for a decision

Investment and approval need a problem, a plan and evidence. A product video needs to show whether this object is worth buying or stocking.

A story ad holds the product back

A person and a small event come first, and the product arrives later. A product video needs the benefit visible from about seven seconds. Story ads cannot be submitted in creation yet.

Founder cards and interviews are about a person

Photos, a record or an interview start a working relationship. In a product video, a person is only the hands and the place around the object.

A fill-in example: a fictional folding travel kettle

Use the fictional name Pliva Fold Kettle. It is not for sale, and this page has no film of it. Who: someone who stays in hotels and has one flat layer left in a suitcase. Scene: they arrive at night, want one cup of water, and the kettle already on the desk takes the space.

Three benefits, each photographable: how flat it folds, the one-cup line, how the spout stops dripping. If the brief has no “boils in three minutes,” those words stay out.

Ending: say the full name. The action is “see this model on the shop page.” A limited discount appears only when it is printed on an image you uploaded.

Limits that stay in force

No invented performance, comparison tests or reviews. A benefit rests on your files, your photos or a product fact you stated.

The public site does not yet include a finished product film. The kettle on this page is only a structure.

Material analysis is free. Production and the prepaid HKD charge begin after you confirm the plan and the length, and only for a film that passes checks.

Questions before you start

Do a 15-second cover and a 30-second intro share this shape?

The full shape is about 30 seconds and four beats. If the plan offers a shorter length, keep the scene, one benefit and the purchase, and cut the other benefits. Do not rush all four beats.

Can I start with pack shots and no scene?

Yes. The film then leans on the pack and the details. If you have no scene photographs, the script should not describe a room or a person you did not shoot.

How does this relate to the product pitch guide?

The guide is how to talk through a product in a pitch. This page is how that talk becomes an about-30-second film, and which photographs you need to hand over.

Can this be an efficacy ad for food or medicine?

It cannot go beyond facts already on your pack and in your files. Without a test report, there is no performance promise.

When can I make a story ad?

The story-ad entry is not open. What you can produce now is a product video. You can draft the story shape on the story-ad page and use it when that entry opens.

How is it priced?

Material analysis is free (no upfront top-up required). Production uses prepaid HKD (from HK$20) at the limited-time HK$1/film trial price, charged only when a QA-passed film is delivered; failed or cancelled jobs are free.
